We can remember a time when those without a clue were predicting the demise of Apple Computers; too niche and too expensive. Then along came the iPhone and the iPad (and iTunes) and the world turned out to be, flat afterall. Very flat.
There are thousands of companies making accessories for these essential 21st century devices but few make them as well, or as understated, or as elegant as Greenwich MMXV (that’s 2015 for non Romans). Conceived, by all accounts, over a few pints in a country pub.
You may think £60 for a phone case and up to £200 for an iPad cover is a little steep. But that’s because you haven’t seen them. Using leather from one specific region of southern Germany (where the hides are reputed to be some of the best in Europe), dyed in soft telluric shades, and wrapped around tough yet light carbon fibre shells, these Greenwich cases are items of real joy. Perhaps a little over indulgent to buy for yourself but there are several GG2G writers who would hope for one as a gift; a leaving gift? Perish the thought.
For sheer undiluted decadence we opt for the Clipper Cable Tidies. These are plucky little leather straps, that snap together with magnets, to prevent power and /or audio cables from tangling. There’s room in every busy peripatetic life for a dash of digital decadence.
